The Huddle Hat by Natalie Warner

Well, dear knitters, it’s hard to believe, but the time has come to meet the last of the Something To Knit Together Winter Edition patterns! Gather round and say hello to the Huddle Hat, the fifth and final pattern from Natalie Warner for this collection!

With the Huddle Hat, Natalie’s designed an almost impossibly squishy and incredibly cosy noggin topper. Featuring basket weave and cables and a deep turned back brim, the Huddle Hat begins with a cable strip. Stitches are then picked up along the strip for the body of the hat, which is worked flat. The hat’s crown is shaped with decreases, and the finished piece is seamed together. A very quick knit, this is also a great project for either trying or refining all the skills we’ve been learning through Something To Knit Together — every technique is used in this fab hat!

The result is a beautifully textured and really warm hat! The pattern is written for three sizes, each of which covers a sizeable head range, and also includes notes for altering circumference and depth. Its flexible sizing makes it particularly good for gift knitting where you might not be 100% sure of the recipient’s head size. That is, if you can bear to give it away … It’s knitted, as are all the patterns in this collection, in our Something To Knit With Aran yarn. You’ll need three skeins for the first two sizes, and four skeins for the large. While we have sold out of a few shades, you’ll find plenty of loveliness left in the online shop. It’s currently on sale (and don’t forget, you can use your S2KT Winter Edition discount code as well).
