Confident Knitting Projects, Autumn

We’re slowly winding things down at Arnall-Culliford HQ, but before we sign off, we want to finish celebrating the amazing skill building and beautiful knits that have continued to come out of the Confident Knitting knitalongs! Today, it’s all about your CK Autumn projects.

We kicked off the season with Jen’s fabulous Moorland Socks, and, wow, lots of you were big fans of the garter stitch short row heel (as I am!).

HollyR made a pair not just for her self, but her two little ones too! I love this trio of stripey socks. (Yarn by Fab Funky Fibres).

Toes warmed up, we turned our attention back to our hands and the magic of mosaic knitting with Marceline Smith’s rich and earthy Terrain Mitts. It was especially fun seeing all the different three-colour combinations people chose!

Marce’s Terrain pattern also inspired lots of knitters to get creative, trying out mitten and fingerless glove versions … plus plenty of experimenting with other mosaic projects too! The topic in The Knitalong Hub is really inspiring and well worth a browse!

We then wrapped up the season with another m-technique: modular knitting, as shown off most excellently in Emily K Williams Findhorn Wrap! Some amazingly cosy stoles came out of this knitalong!

JackieP’s version in the designer’s choice colourway, knit in Coop Knits Socks Yeah! 4ply.

Ikumi G’s version in the Alternative Coop Knits Socks Yeah! 4ply colourway.

We have loved hosting the knitalongs to go along with Confident Knitting. It’s so fabulous seeing the courage with which you tackle new techniques, and the creativity you bring to the projects. If you’d like to see more inspiration, do have a browse over in the Knitalongs section of the Hub — no account required. And of course, if you’d like to knit any of the patterns shown here, you can grab a copy of Confident Knitting — as either a print + eBook bundle or ebook version — in the online shop which will remain open through the end of February. After that, you’ll still be able to purchase our books at your favourite local yarn shop … and if they don’t stock them, you can ask them to order them from Fyberspates!
