Little lessons: Seaming blanket squares

The squares of my Fly Away Blanket by Tin Can Knits are being completed bit by bit…

You can really see the difference between the blocked and unblocked squares here, can’t you? (There are 2 unblocked squares.) I simply soaked them in some no-rinse wool wash, then pinned them out to 24cm [9 1/2”] square and left them to dry.

As promised, I’ve filmed a video on seaming the squares together. As it’s a garter stitch blanket, it’s quite straightforward, but I hope it’s helpful to see how I do it.

I’m using our Something to Knit With Aran yarn to make my blanket, and if I do say so myself, it’s rather lovely to work with! If you fancy trying your hand at a blanket or other aran-weight project, then don’t forget that you can get 40% off Something to Knit With Aran when you buy 10 or more skeins, by using the code GORTHLECK at the checkout. We’ve extended the offer for another month as my desire to knit aran-weight blanket squares doesn’t seem to be dimming! This code is not valid in conjunction with any other offer, and will expire at the end of 31st May 2020 (BST).

My blanket looks set to use 1 skein each of Cornflower and Jade; 4 skeins of Pool; 11 skeins of Mist.
