Announcing the Spring Into Colour KAL!

I don’t know how things look in your corner of the world, but around these parts, it’s been nothing but winter storms, cold temperatures, and some very grey days! But I’ve also spied the first of the spring flowers popping up, their little bursts of colour promising that winter, in fact, will soon be over!

Whether it’s cold, wet, windy, muddy — or all four! — where you are, let’s take a cue from those first spring buds and inject a bit of colour into our knitting!

Starting 1 March, we’ll be launching a brand new knitalong celebrating colourful knits. Any type of project is eligible, as long as it features more than one colour! Perhaps there’s a stranded colourwork project you’ve had your eye on? Maybe you’d like to have some fun with slipped stitches? Or it could be that you’re in the mood for some good ol’ stripes. Whether you choose a garment or accessory, a project with two colours or twelve, we hope you’ll join us as we banish winter blues for the #springintocolourKAL!

The details …

The KAL will launch 1 March and run through the end of April, giving you plenty of time to tackle a garment, if you wish! As with all of our knitalongs, we aim to be as inclusive as possible. Any pattern, knitted in any yarn, is eligible so long as the project has two or more colours. Works-in-progress are welcome so long as there is still some significant knitting left to do. And as always, it’s the taking part that counts, so no pressure to finish during the KAL — and there will be prizes!

And we’ve also got some beautiful kits to share with you that would be perfect for our colourful KAL! I am beyond excited about the release of Lily Kate France’s Hey Now sweater, a top down, seamless sweater designed in our very own Something to Knit With Aran! If you’d like to knit your own, we’ve got kits in the shop which include the pattern, a project bag, and all the yarn you’ll need to complete the sweater (with a saving of over 25% compared with purchasing separately). We’ve got three colour combinations on offer, but if other colours tickle your fancy, you can also request your own!

We’ve also put together kits for Maddie Harvey’s ever-so-lovely Ama Sweater!

This sweater is designed to allow a special yarn to really pop, and we think it works up beautifully in Coop Knits Socks Yeah! DK. We’ve got two shades to choose from for your main colour, and you can either pair it with some special hand-dyed DK you already own (or source some!) or choose a lovely contrast shade of Socks Yeah! DK — we’re all about the options! Ama Sweater Kits also include a project bag and download code for the pattern!

Won’t you join us? As always, we’ll be cheering each other along over in the Ravelry thread — why not pop on over and get chatting? I’ll also be sharing a bit more project inspiration over the next week, but in the meantime, you can use the #SpringintoColourKAL hashtag on social media to share your plans ahead of our 1 March kick off!
