Trunk Show at Jamieson & Smith

I'm thrilled to be travelling up to Shetland in just over a week's time for Wool Week 2017. I first visited Shetland in 2012, when I was asked by Jamieson & Smith to recreate patterns for some garments in the textile archive. Jim and I had an utterly brilliant trip, and fell very much in love with the islands. I returned later the same year to teach at Wool Week 2012, doing a class on pattern writing. I've been longing to return ever since!

While we're in Shetland, we are holding a trunk show for A Year of Techniques at Jamieson & Smith. We will have all of the samples from the book, as well as some light refreshments. The lovely Ella Gordon will be there, along with me and Jim and we'd love to see any of you who might be visiting for Wool Week!

A Year of Techniques Trunk Show
Tuesday 26th September 2017
6pm - 8pm
Jamieson & Smith (Shetland Wool Brokers Ltd),

That's not all the news though... I'm also really excited that I've got a pattern in this year's Wool Week Annual. I'm in great company, and I'll keep you posted as soon as the Annual is available to buy. We'll also have the yarn required for my design in our online shop shortly.

Jim and I are planning plenty of relaxation while we are up in Shetland. It's been an extremely busy year for us, and we could both do with a bit of down time. The move to our new office is almost complete, and we will be shipping the Winter Kits at the end of this week (I'll do a proper office tour post once it's a bit tidier!). While we're in Lerwick, I'm hoping to catch up with some knitting, and maybe writing a few blog posts about what I've had on my needles recently. We have a class each booked, I'm doing brioche tuck stitches with Nancy Marchant, and Jim is doing a workshop on design with Donna Smith. Beyond that we'll just be doing a bit of walking and hanging out at The Peerie Cafe as much as we can. I can't wait!
