New things

Helical stripes continue to dominate many people's knitting lives, with hats, gloves and even a full-sized tee on the go (you can see what the fuss is about here). In amongst all the excitement of launching the first pattern, sending out kits and continuing to get the rest of the patterns and tutorials ready to go out, we had rather allowed our shop to run a little low in stock. So we have done plenty of restocking, and although there are still a few items to arrive, here's a round up of what's new and popular.

We stock books that we have had a hand in producing and this is one of our current sources of pride:

Inspired by Islay is the latest book of patterns, essays and photographs from Kate Davies. The twelve patterns are divided into four stories, each inspired by a particular area of the island. Whether you like to knit colourwork, cables, garments, or accessories, there is sure to be something that fits your interests. More on this book soon.

In the Knitter's Treats section, you'll find all sorts of tempting gifts for friends, or just as a treat for yourself. Much of what we stock comes from local illustrator Mary Kilvert. Her Flock of Colourful Sheep and Sheep Pattern designs make us smile on a daily basis. We've added in some badges to adorn your coat or cardigan when you're out and about.

If you have been to a UK yarn show over recent years, you are likely to have come across Tilly Flop Designs. Her cards have proven to be popular, so we have increased our range, including this self-assembly one for indecisive knitters:

While searching for new things, I also came across these stickers - perfect for infuriating the easily embarrassed teen in your life, perhaps.

As we find more interesting and fun things out there, we will put them up in our shop.

Newsletter subscribers will shortly be getting a discount code that is valid for the remainder of March for all products except A Year of Techniques. If you haven't signed up for the newsletter, do it before lunch UK time so you too can benefit.
