What was I thinking?

Dearest blog readers,

Please accept my humblest apologies for my choice of knitting projects. I appear to be working only on projects that consist of endless stocking stitch. There won't be much excitement to report for weeks to come, as I plough through the bodies of not one but two fairly plain, 4ply, adult garments. I shall endeavour not to post endless photos of incremental changes in the length of the stocking stitch bodies that I'm knitting on, but at the same time, would welcome encouragement to stick with my knitting, as it will all be worth it in the end.

What was I thinking?

Please bear with me...

Granito by Joji Locatelli. Absolutely dreamy! But so far there's not too much to see. I'm not doing much work on this at the moment, as although I can now purl with the yarn in my left hand for ribbing, I'm still finding it tricky to work a whole row of Norwegian purl. So in order to knit on this I need to either drop the needle and wrap with my right hand, or just work very short bursts of flicking (see my earlier post on picking and flicking for more discussion of my current knitting styles...). I'll come back to it when my index finger is stronger.

Ola Yoke by Ella Gordon. I am absolutely ITCHING to get to the marvellous colourwork yoke on this design. But in the meantime there is a lot of plain body to get through. It's perfect TV knitting, but won't be very interesting to blog about for a while yet!

Rainbow socks. These are in my handbag, so they get a few rounds worked whenever I'm waiting for something or, more usually, someone. I'm trying to get better at my picking technique when I'm on double-pointed needles, but it's a slow process. I'm sure there are a few more stripes than when I last mentioned them...

A sneak peek. This is a new design I'm working on, using our Something to Knit With 4ply yarn. So far there's only the start of a sleeve, and yes, here again, it's just stocking stitch for a while. I do love a folded cuff though, don't you?

If you click on the images in this post it will take you to my Ravelry project pages where you will find full details of patterns and yarns used.

Thank you for your patience. I promise to consider casting on something more exciting soon.

Love from, Jen x
